I The Shalalalas nascono da un colpo di fulmine tra la chitarra di Alex e la voce di Sara.
Nel 2013 esce il loro primo EP “The Fucking Shalalalas”, in cui si intrecciano sonorita indie folk con melodie pop.
Dopo una lunghissima serie di live, nell'aprile 2015 esce, per l'etichetta Bassa Fedelta, il loro primo LP dal titolo “There are 3 las in Shalalalas”, un disco totalmente acustico che la band ama definire “dream-folk”.
Il #3 las tour, nei mesi successivi porta i The Shalalalas in oltre 100 citta in Italia ed Europa (Francia, Spagna, Svizzera, Romania) e li vede salire sul palco del Primavera Sound Festival di Barcellona.
Nel 2016 il brano “A Week” viene scelto per la sigla della serie TV “L’Allieva”, con Alessandra Mastronardi e Lino Guanciale, e la regia di Luca Ribuoli. La serie va in onda in prima serata RAI 1, tra settembre e ottobre dello stesso anno e vede molti altri brani della band presenti all'interno della colonna sonora.
Nel dicembre 2016, i The Shalalalas sono tra i 12 finalisti di Sanremo Giovani 2017, con il loro primo brano in italiano “Difficile”. Si esibiscono cosi in prima serata RAI 1, nella trasmissione “Sara Sanremo”.
Nel 2017 lavorano al loro secondo album, intervallando il lavoro di scrittura e registrazione, all'attivita live.
Il nuovo disco si chiamera “Boom” ed uscira nel marzo 2018, per Bassa Fedelta. Avra delle sonorita piu indie-rock e vedrà i The Shalalalas esibirsi dal vivo per la prima volta in formazione a quattro. A Sara e Alex si aggiungeranno basso e batteria.
For the musical duo The Shalalalas it was love at first sight, when Alex’s guitar met Sara’s voice. In early 2013 the Italian duo released their first EP “The Fucking Shalalalas” fusing sounds of indie-folk together with pop melodies.
After performing several live shows, in April 2015 The Shalalalas released their debut album “There are 3 las in Shalalalas”, published by “Bassa Fedeltà” records. This album was a collection of acoustic songs presented in a more “dream-folk” style, as the band likes to say. During the following months, the duo began its “#3 las tour” across Europe (Italy, France, Spain, Switzerland and Romania), performing in more than 100 towns and playing a combination of festivals, including the Primavera Sound in Barcelona.
In 2016 the song “A week” was selected as the theme tune for the Italian TV series “L’Allieva”, starring Alessandra Mastronardi and Lino Guanciale. Most of the duo’s songs are in the soundtrack of the first season, broadcast on Rai1 channel.
Thanks to the track “Difficile”, written and performed in Italian, in December 2016, The Shalalalas were in the top 12 of “Sanremo Giovani Festival 2017”. The duo played at “Sará Sanremo” show, on Rai1 channel at prime time.
During 2017 The Shalalalas have been in the studio working on their new album. Throughout the recording process, the duo likes to alternate between productive writing sessions and live performances.
In March 2018 they released "Boom" on the same record label. This collection of works has evolved into a stronger indie-rock style, largely due to the addition of bass and drums, forming a new dimension to their sound.
