1948 Indian Big Base Scout Builder And Owner Matt Blake

Back in 1948, only 50 Big Base Scouts rolled off Indian’s production line, and Matt Blake, owner of of Iron Horse Corral in Clovis, California, has one of them. Blake fully restored it with hand-beaten aluminum (all done himself!) and 58ci stroker engine (stock was 45ci). “It was actually the quickest build I’ve ever done,” Blake said. “It only took a year to get the bike done once I started working on it because I got so excited about building it—that nobody else would have anything like this.”
