Welcome to a new weekend of UCI MTB World Cup 2018 action! This time around, we got you some downhill!
Practice and Timed Training got underway at Fort William and typically for the demanding Scottish track there was the usual shed load of punctures, mechanicals and crashes.
Danny Hart laid down the fastest run in Timed Training, with Gee Atherton 3.6 seconds behind, despite him getting close and personal with the track earlier in the day...
Returning from injury, Loïc Bruni was looking rapid despite damaging his elbow at the first round in Lošinj, along with Brook Macdonald, who just five weeks ago broke his collar bone but managed a speedy fourth place in Timed Training.
Kaos Seagrave and Trek Factory Racing’s Kade Edward were having fun on track doing no-handers and styling it out.
Dean Lucas had a bad crash during practice and got stretchered off to hospital for a check-up. Feeling beat up after the fall he's planning to go through the gate in qualifying and will see how he feels about racing on Sunday.
With other podium contenders Greg Minnaar and Jack Moir out of contention this weekend, there's a few spots open for grabs and it's a question of who'll be able to tame the Fort William track to secure them, and with rain forecast for qualifying it could make things interesting. We also take a look at Rachel Atherton's thoughts on the race.
