Britain's most loyal customer has visited the same Co-op shop for 80 YEARS
  • 5 years ago
A 90-year-old woman is celebrating a special anniversary - having shopped at the same supermarket for 80 YEARS. Loyal Mary Norton has seen the shop evolve from a small butchers and grocers into a major supermarket, paying with shillings, pennies and credit cards down the years. The devoted customer first visited the Central England Co-operative store in Hallam Crescent East, Leicester, to fetch her mum's weekly shop in 1937, at the age of ten. Ever since the former dinner lady has continued to get her daily essentials from the shop, which is just across the road from her. The Leicester City fan has even been going on a daily basis since her husband Peter died in 2010 at the age of 86.
