Virgil Tracy’s iconic green transporter Thunderbird 2 has been painstakingly
cultivated out of 15-acres of maize plants at the maze in York, North Yorks.

Creator Tom Pearcy said he came up with the idea to commemorate the 50th
anniversary of the launch of the puppet series, which is set on the fictional
Tracy Island.

Tom said: “As a kid I remember watching Gerry Anderson’s great TV shows like
Stingray & Captain Scarlet, but Thunderbirds was my favourite.

“I wanted to do something big to mark the 50th anniversary.
