Many people know Katy Lees as a mild-mannered cleaner, but by night she is making a name for herself as Chardonnay, a chav-inspired professional WRESTLER. Feisty Katy, 24, has been impressing enthusiasts with her loudmouthed alter-ego, who comes dressed up in pink Burberry, a diamante encrusted cap and a massive gold chain. She was exposed to the sport as a child when her elder brother and his friends used to try out their combat moves on her. But far from being put off, Katy grew to love the activity and went along to a wrestling taster class in 2009. By 2012 she was making a 30 mile trip to Gloucester, and a 70 mile trip to Leicester every week for wrestling training. She entered her first show in January of this year, and has appeared at bouts across the country on most Saturday nights since. She makes between £20 - £60 per battle and her dream is to join World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in America but she is currently using her wage as a cleaner to support herself until she gets her big break. Chardonnay is usually the heel at shows but Katy is happy to play up to the unpopular persona.
