First World War soldier saved by his pocket watch

The life of a brave First World War soldier who was fighting on the front line in France was saved by his two inch POCKET WATCH - which stopped a German BULLET. The solid silver timepiece was recently unearthed by the family of Corporal Walter Davis who served for Britain on the Western Front when he was just 22-years-old. He joined the 9th Battalion North Staffordshire Regiment in 1915 and was sent straight to the front line where he battled German forces during the Battle of the Somme. During the fierce conflict Walter and his platoon came under heavy fire in the trenches.
