A 100-year-old great grandmother who was clocked speeding just three years ago has celebrated her centenary by taking to a SEGWAY. Sylvia Frankton hopped aboard the two-wheeled machine to commemorate the milestone by zipping around a specially laid out course. The great-grandmother-of-17 had her entire family gathered, including all her great-grandchildren and her five grandchildren. But rather than join them to watch the course Sylvia slipped away from her daughter and hopped on one of the off-road Segways herself before haring round the course. No stranger to speed Sylvia was caught speeding when she was 97 - but got away without any points after writing a letter to cops apologising. The sprightly centenarian was born just months before the outbreak of World War 1 in 1914. Her new steed wasn't even invented until Sylvia was celebrating her 87th birthday.
