Rome born Italian pianist and composer Patrizia Scascitelli began playing music at 8 years old. She went to graduate in classical and jazz piano at the prestigious Conservatory St. Cecilia, where she studied with Armando Renzi, Pietro Scarpini,Tito Aprea, Flavio Benedetti, Michelangelo and Giorgio Gaslini.
Patrizia Scascitelli was the first woman in Italy to play jazz.
After many collaborations with well-known musicians in Rome and some experiences as band leader at jazz festivals in Umbria, Bologna, Bergamo and Pescara with both critics and audience success, 24 years old Scascitelli came to her debut album "Ballata" inspired by Italian folk music.
The album was listed as one of the most representative recordings of Italian musical expression of the time.
Bass and drums provide a rhythmic engine full of nuances without ever dominating the leader Patrizia Scascitelli who envelops the listener in a cascade of liquid and crystalline notes.
