The characters include Nazneen- daughter of the village’s leader Hashmat Khan and an outspoken and carefree soul, Basit – son of Hashmat Khan’s loyal servant, Rani – a street beggar and a transgender Shaamu. Nazneen is engaged to Shahzaib but she has feelings for Basit, who does not want to put his family in any awkward position. On the parallel side, Shaamu has feelings for Rani but she is disgusted by his proposal and reminds him of his social position.
