How to get a angelfish pair. Tips for beginners

Hello. If you are trying to breed angelfish, and it is your first time, this video will guide you in assisting you with getting started. The most important thing to breeding angelfish, is establishing a good pair first. To do this requires patience and time. There are 2 ways to get a angelfish pair.\r
\r
1. Getting 8 to 10 juvenile angelfish and grow them out. I highly recommend you do it this way as it is the most successful way. The downside is the wait. If you choose to do this method, it could take anywhere from 6 to 10 months. You can speed up the process by keeping the temperature at 80 degrees and feeding your juvenile angels twice a day with good quality flakes. Also feed Red blood worms, or Mysis brine shrimp once or twice a week. Do a 25 percent or more water change once a week. Changing out the water gets rid of the hormones angels produce that keeps the angels from growing properly. \r

2. Buying a angelfish pair. I do not recommend this method, but if you want to risk it to save time, then go for it. Some people value time more then anything else. Keep in mind, when you buy a angelfish pair, It is not a guarantee the pair will lay eggs in your tank, even if they have been spawning in the tank the pair was originally in. Sometimes they will breed for you , but it could take time. Also before buying a pair, make sure they lay eggs in the first place. \r
