Ethiopic (Ethiopian) alphabet is used by Amharic, the official language of Ethiopia, and many more languages spoken in Ethiopia and elsewhere. Amharic alone is spoken by several tens of millions of people. It is the second widely spoken Semitic language in the world. Ethiopic has 34 basic alphabets. The 34 each include 6 or sometimes 7 more in the family to accommodate for different vowels added to the basic charer which also resulted in slight variations in shape from the basic charer. Some of the alphabets found to appear similar. These might become a daunting task for children if different approaches and methodologies are not designed to teach the over 264 alphabets. This video, which is Part 1, and others which will follow are prepared to help children differentiate similar looking alphabets.
