00:43Stop this bullshit
00:45I present you... go away... I present you the PPSH 41 from ARES and the same from S&T.
00:59This airsoft gun, how is it done? We have a metal body, except for this part, which is in plastic. We have a wood stock. Yes, on S&T too it's in wood, but I've not worked on it yet.
01:18It will soon be done, that's why I show it you before I work on it, and after with the ARES, because I've sanded it all, from the stock to the end of the barrel.
01:32The battery is placed in the stock. To access it, we pull the hatch, we push a little pin inside and we rotate it on the side.
01:46My battery is a 9,6V, 1600mAh, not fully charged, that's why my current cadency is poor.
01:57The sling is WW2, you can find it for 15 to 20$ if you look well!
02:05About magazines, there are two types: Camembert magazine. I won't do any joke about cheese. (if you don't understand Camembert, it's like a drum)
02:16The drum magazine which can loaded with 2000 BB's. To open it, it's almost like the real magazine: for the real, you have to pull the button to disengage the wedge. Here we don't need to push.
02:36I advice you to glue this screw, because you risk to lose it after many manipulations.
02:48Inside, all is in plastic, and it's a big Hi-Cap. A technic to reduce the capacity and the noise while you'll transport it: I used plasticine with cellophane, it reduced the noise and has avoided this.
03:14But it weigh down the magazine, and it quickly damage it, so mine is damaged here, on the only plastic part on this f*cking magazine!
03:35To remove the magazine, you have a small lever here, to pull forward.
03:42Note the hop-up unit is in plastic. The loading wells can be damaged with time.
03:48So don't use force when inserting the magazine, and follow rails!
03:54As I said, to remove the magazine, push forward the lever. Don't need to use this lever to insert the magazine.
04:07But we also have curved magazine with 560 BB's. Red Orchestra 2 players will recognize this magazine! (it's the basic magazine for the PPSH, you have to level up to access the 71 rounds magazine)
04:24Here we still have a f*cking wheel to load the BB's... I tried to convert it in low-cap version, I've not succeed, I've almost killed my magazine. Better to keep the 560 BB's of capacity, or do pieces of foam to reduce noise and capacity.
04:55About the power, we reach 324 fps (average with 10 BB's), between 320 and 330 fps, it's very good. And about the range, we can reach 40m, the hop-up unit is very effective!
05:15The blow-back sound is very sympatic! Here we are in semi-automatic. And here in burst. We have a small recoil, I feel it! It's more sympathic from above! :)
05:40Once you want to be in safety mode, you have to pull the cocking lever until you'll feel a resistance, and you pull more until the gears noise. The piston is now disengaged.
06:00It happens nothing when you want to fire, and now you can access inside the body, to the gearbox. Press the rear button to open the body.
06:15The big weakness of this gun (the same for the S&T I can imagine) is this part. It makes the link between the piston and the breech, and give the blow back effect.
06:39And this small part is made with... zamak !!! What a coincidence! You can find it in spare parts, but go directly ask it to ARES. I've bought 3 parts, I've spare like this, mine has been broken in 2011.
06:55To setup it, it's very difficult, I won't hide it. The gearbox is very special and I didn't want to disassemble it. So I went through the top with a screwdriver. I made lever to slide it in rails, to place it without all disasembling.
07:23To close, it's easy: it's the opposite as before.
07:28To disassemble the stock, it's easy too: one screw here, and the same here, so you need 2 screwdrivers. One to keep the screw in place, the other to unscrew.
07:45To access to the gearbox, you have to disassemble it, you have 2 screws here to remove. 2 screws here, you remove the block below, remove the stock, and you have the gearbox.
08:08For the metal, I sanded it and tan it, but it's not a good idea, it won't be protected from the climate conditions. Tan with cold tanning is a chimical reaction, and I've tried to protect it, it can't be stopped.
08:27So if you have a little salt in the air, it will rust. Each year, I went to Sables d'Olonne in soviet uniform with my old group, so near the sea, and it rusted each time. It was awful to my opinion...
08:51For others it can be realistic, but for me, it's not maintained! So do not sand the original paint, the original paint is very good.
09:10So it you have any question, don't hesitate to ask me, I try to answer for everybody. (I've not engaged a secretary yet) and I'll see you in my next video review.
