East Howdon FC 1-0 FUT TOTW 29
FIFA 18 Ultimate Team: Team of the Week
World Class Setting
8th April 2018: Veltins-Arena
A week after Gerard Deulofeu’s early goal led East Howdon FC to a hard-fought 1-0 win over FUT TOTW 28 at St. James’ Park, Howdon scraped another 1-0 victory over FUT TOTW 29 at Veltins-Arena, home of German club FC Schalke 04. French forward Alexandre Lacazette made his debut for East Howdon and marked the occasion by scoring the winning goal in the 79th minute.
Lacazette made a clever run in behind TOTW right-back Mathieu Debuchy and latched onto a Sadio Mané through ball from the left. Breaking into the penalty area, Lacazette cut back inside onto his right foot, turning centre-back Raúl inside-out in the process, lined up his shot and let loose. Lacazette’s shot flew into the bottom left-hand corner of the goal, beating diving goalkeeper Andrea Consigli at his near post.
Sadio Mané’s assist for Lacazette’s winner helped the Senegalese winger earn the Man of the Match award in what was a solid team performance by East Howdon FC, with stand-out performances from Lacazette and club captain Leighton Baines too. FUT TOTW were let down by their finishing, with only five of their twelve shots hitting the target. Juan Cuadrado’s finishing was particularly poor and the Columbian winger squandered several golden opportunities to change the game.
