Schumer: 'Don't Even Think About' Firing Mueller

Chuck Schumer on Tuesday warned President Trump against firing Robert Mueller.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer issued President Trump a warning against firing special counsel Robert Mueller.  "In this country, no man is above the law—not even the president…Now, if the president is thinking of using this raid to fire special counsel Mueller or otherwise interfere with the chain of command in the Russia probe we have one simple message for him," Schumer said in a speech from the Senate floor on Tuesday. "Don't even think about it."
Trump raised the possibility of Mueller's dismissal on Monday and not long after the FBI raid targeting his personal attorney Michael Cohen.  The president called the situation a "real disgrace" and said that many have told him it's time for the special counsel to be dismissed, notes the Washington Examiner. When asked, "Why don't you just fire Mueller?" Trump replied, in part, "we'll see what happens. I think it's disgraceful, and so do a lot of other people. This is a pure and simple witch hunt."
