B.K.Sangamesh will contest for Karnataka assembly elections 2018 as Congress candidate from Bhadravathi assembly constituency, Shivamogga. In 2013 election he contested as interdependent candidate and lost the election.

ಕಳೆದ ಬಾರಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಪಕ್ಷದ ನಾಯಕರು ಮಾಡಿದ ಕೆಲವು ತಪ್ಪುಗಳಿಂದ ನಾನು ಪಕ್ಷೇತರ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಯಾಗಿ ಚುನಾವಣೆಗೆ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಬಾರಿ ನಾನು ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಯಾಗಿಯೇ ಚುನಾವಣೆಗೆ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ' ಎಂದು ಬಿ.ಕೆ.ಸಂಗಮೇಶ್ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
