The pre-poll surveys have predicted a comfortable win for the Congress in Karnataka. The C-Fore survey predicted increased majority of 126 seats for the Congress in the upcoming Karnataka Assembly polls. The C-Fore survey puts BJP in second place with 70 seats, an improvement on its tally in the 2013 Assembly elections, when it scored 43 seats. The C-Fore gives former Prime Minister Deve Gowda’s Janata Dal (Secular) party just 27 seats. Another survey conducted by agency CHS has predicted a hung assembly for karnataka..as it gave the Janata dal secular a whopping 65 seats with a warnign for the congress that it could lose 40 to 50 seats in comparison to 2013.
It gave the BJP a possible win in 73 to 76 constituencies. The TV-9 Cvoter survey on the other hand has given the congress 102 seats. TV9-Cvoter had given the BJP a tally of 96 seats and predicted a lower tally for JD(S), giving it just 25 seats.
