The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned for the day after ruckus inside and outside the parliament over the special category status for Andhra Pradesh. As planned, TDP's Chandra Babu Naidu and YSR Congress' Jagan Mohan Reddy moved the no confidence motions against Modi government in the Lok Sabha before the session had to be adjourned amid ruckus.

Multiple political parties including the Congress, RJD, AIMIM and TMC have extended their support to YSR congress and TDP in the no trust vote, the left front too has pledged support. Going by the numbers, BJP has sufficient numbers to sail through the trust vote.

However, in the perception game, TDP and YSR congress have sent out a message loud and clear that BJP has let down interests of Andhra Pradesh which has brought both parties together in spite of their stated political position. The move is being seen as a consolidation of opposition as well with an eye on 2019.
