A beautiful eerie song of the sea, from an old legend of the seal people who came onto land occasionally, and if they chose to live with someone they made them happy, unless mistreated, when they left in the night, taking their babes with them. Here, a man Silkie has come to the woman with whom he left their son to be cared for, and says I will come back for him soon on a summer's day, teach him how to swim the foam. But you shall marry then, a gunner...and his very first shot will kill my son, and me with him.
