Oprah Responds To Trump's 'Insecure' Remark: 'I Don't Like Giving Negativity Power'

Oprah Winfrey on Thursday reacted to President Trump's recent tweet targeting her.

Oprah Winfrey recently weighed in on President Trump's assertion that she is "very insecure."  Winfrey said during an interview with 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show,' scheduled for broadcast on Thursday, "I don't like giving negativity power, so I just thought, 'What?'"  Trump's tweet came in response to Winfrey's '60 Minutes' segment that aired on Sunday. In it, she interviewed a number of Michigan voters, some Trump supporters and some not. "Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview a panel of people on 60 Minutes," the president wrote. "The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect. Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!"  Winfrey told DeGeneres, "I was working very hard to do the opposite of what I was hate-tweeted about," and noted producers added an extra Trump voter response so as not to appear one-sided.  Meanwhile, talk of a possible Oprah 2020 run has been circulating after her powerful speech at the Golden Globe Awards.  Winfrey has since said she has no intention of pursuing the high office, but some close to her have suggested it may ultimately happen.
