Japanese Mafia Fugitive Snagged After Viral Tattoo Photo

Thai police have arrested a member of the Japanese mafia. According to police, 74-year-old Shigeharu Shirai has been on the run for 14 years. Shirai was detained in Lopburi, Thailand on Thursday. Authorities say Shirai fled Japan for Bangkok in 2005 while being investigated for the 2003 murder of a rival Yakuza member. After pictures of his distinctive tattoos went viral on Facebook, Japanese police were alerted to Shirai’s location.
