The E35 Expressway or Hazara Expressway is a 180 kilometer controlled-access expressway linking the Burhan Interchange near Hasan Abdal in Punjab province with Haripur, Havelian, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Shinkiari, Battagram, and Thakot in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The project is divided into 7 packages; the first three (from Burhan to Havalian) are nearing completion and will be inaugurated on 27 December 2017 by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. The expressway is not being financed by the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, but will instead be financed by the Asian Development Bank,[2] along with a ₨10.021 billion (US$95 million) grant from the United Kingdom
47-kilometre section of the Hassanabdal-Havelian motorway, commonly known as the Hazara motorway has been completed from Burhan to Shah Maqsoodan interchange and would be opened for traffic on December 15.
According to an NHA official, both the 20-kilometer Package-I, that starts from Burhan and ends at Jarikas and the 20-kilometre Package-II, that starts from Jarikas and ends at Sarai Saleh have been completed.
He said that the total length of the Hazara motorway from Hassanabdal to Havelian would be 59.1 kilometres. The project would have five interchanges with toll plazas at their entrance/exit points.
