WhatsApp has announced that it will stop providing services to certain smartphones after December 31st 2017. The messaging app will pull its plug on mobile platforms like BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10, Windows Phone 8.0 and older. The messaging service provider first announced that it will end services to these phones in 2016, but later extended the dead line to June 2017, then to 31st December 2017. WhatsApp states on its blog " This was a tough decision for us to make, but the right one in order to give people better ways to keep in touch with friends, family, and loved ones using WhatsApp. If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer Android, iPhone, or Windows Phone before the end of 2016 to continue using WhatsApp,".
