Of the four founding members of THE 4 OF US, only brothers Brendan and Declan Murphy have remained continuously part of the group; the occupants of the other two positions have varied.

It all started on Jan 1st 1989 when the debut single 'I Just Can't Enough' hit the stores. Then in March 'Drag My Bad Name Down' followed with the Irish No.1 single 'Mary' [June '89] preceding the September release of the debut album for CBS Records 'Songs for the Tempted.' Consequently, the album went double platinum in Ireland and won Best Album of the Year at the Irish Music Awards, defeating the internationally-known act U2. Double A-sider 'Washington Down/Possessed' seen the light of day in the November then 2 REMIXED singles followed in 1990: 'Drag My Bad Name Down' in the March & 'Mary' in May.
A 4 track EP 'Baby Jesus' surfaced in Oct 1991 then, all went quiet until Sept 1992 when the 'Man Alive' EP was quickly followed by their 2nd album of the same name for Sony/Columbia Records.
'She Hits Me' came out in Feb 1993 & made the UK Top 40. The album got a re-released on the strength of this with the last offering ' I Miss You' just failing to secure them another UK Top40 in the March.
The band lost momentum when recording their 3rd album 'Amplifier.' This was eventually shelved although 2 singles: 'Change' [March] & ' Someone's Got To Lose' [Sept]from the sessions were released as singles, via the Invisible Records label in 1997.
The band then disappeared again from the public eye but, they did not separate and, eventually returned to recording.

April 1999 brought us the single 'Maybe It's You' with long overdue album 'Classified Personal' appearing to much delight in May. 2 further singles from the album: the 'C.P.' version of 'Change' [July] & 'Volatile' [Feb 2000] on the Future Inc. label rejuvenated interest in the band.
The 'Super A.D remix' of classic single 'Mary' failed to win any new fans and, 'Off The Record' for EMI slip out in Oct 2000.

Fast forward to Oct 2002 & the single "Sunlight", which would appear on the album 'Heaven and Earth' [Feb 2003]. This began to receive heavy airplay & marked the group's first major commercial success since album 'Songs For The Tempted.'
2 superb singles 'Voice On The Radio' [Apr 2003] & 'U Make Me Feel' [July] followed before things went quiet...yet again!

The band's most recent studio album, 'Fingerprints', whose critical reception has thus far been highly complimentary came out in Sept 2006 preceded by the download single 'What's To Come.'

'Blue' [Nov] & 'Wildflower'[Jan '07] were the last 2 singles to date to get a 'downloadable' release.

The 'LIVE @ Vicar Street'' [2009] was the next album to gain a release &, is currently available @ LIVE gigs with a 'hard copy' release available via the online shop!

Currently...Brendan is promoting the release of his DEBUT SOLO album [ WALK WITH ME ] which was released in 2010 and, is currently on a Germany/Switzerland March 2011 Tour w/ Declan.

A 'FREE 2 DOWNLOAD' single '16 Tons' from the Cyprus Avenue, Jan 2011 gig was made available in March.
