PRESENTED BY BECCA FLEMING
Taste the temptation of their sound. Danger*Cakes' sophomore album, Quarter Life Crisis, has the matured full-bodied sweetness of juvenile delinquency. Their signature brand of "Punk-Infused R&B" has taken a turn towards the musically noir, evoking cinematic overtones of rebellion and unruliness. Their memorable melodies hold true to the humble beginnings of debut album, Dessert First and never fail to maintain their toe-tapping lust for the firebrand energy of conviction.
Hailing from the "Live Music Capital of the World", Austin, TX, Danger*Cakes is set to blow out the candles on their fifth year of rocking. Formed in 2010 by lead vocalist and upright bassist, Jamie Bahr, the proud feminist and humanitarian sought to level the male-dominated Rock and Roll playing field by creating an all-female band like no other. Enlisting the talent of local punk-guitar heroin, Jeremie "Jerms Warfare" Fletcher, the Dutchess of Duke, dynamic drummer, Natalie McDougall, and saxophonist extraordinaire, Jen "The Hammerin'" Nailos, they've created an unrivaled synergy that has made them major players in the Austin music scene. The tenacity of these "Ladies of Hades" is palpable and they lay it on thick through their involvement with community causes. Committing to at least one benefit performance per month for non-profits such as Girls Rock Austin, Kids In a New Groove, Leap of Joy, and Toys for Tots, these good bad girls have proved to have hearts of gold.
