For brothers Keith and Michael Jeffery, home holds a certain kind of magic. The coastal Australian city of Adelaide where Atlas Genius grew up was the birthplace of their success, and where they forged their breakout gold hit “Trojans” as well as debut album When It Was Now. For their second album, Inanimate Objects, they found a new home in Los Angeles and allowed the city’s undeniable creative energy to inform their music. With bright L.A. as their backdrop, Atlas Genius has found a way to juxtapose that experience against the darkness of the unknown, creating what Entertainment Weekly describes as “a huge leap forward” on Inanimate Objects. The album dives into slightly darker emotional realms for songwriter and vocalist, Keith Jeffery, but with the band’s signature brand of melodic electro-pop-rock at the core musically. Current single “Stockholm” is a perfect example of the breadth of influences and experimentation for the band, driven by pulsating rhythms that reflect the ardor of the human spirit in fight. Fully at home in Los Angeles, Atlas Genius have also been able to delve further into an eco-conscious and vegan lifestyle, promoting this throughout their work and even while they are out on tour during 2016, with festival slots already confirmed at Shaky Knees, Hangout, Bottle Rock, and Firefly.
