La Compagnia Scapestrati nasce da un gruppo di amici, cresciuti insieme, a Marina di Campo,
in un paese sul mare dell’Isola d’Elba. Il desiderio di Contaminazioni culturali e musicali che la dimensione ISOLA ostacola, porta la nostra band a viaggiare, soprattutto verso il “sud del mondo” , ed è proprio in questi luoghi che nascerà l’ispirazione per testi e musiche di alcuni brani. Ma è la stessa Dimensione Isola, questo mare che da un lato ci spinge a navigare verso terre lontane ma allo stesso tempo ci radica profondamente al piccolo pezzo di terra in cui viviamo, che ci stimola ad una ricerca sul nostro passato, delle tradizioni e canti popolari isolani che la band riarrangia
The “La Compagnia Scapestrati” is today formed by the remaining founding members of a group of friends that grew up together in Marina di Campo In a country on the island of Elba. The desire for cultural and musical diversity that comes from the ISLAND has become limiting for them. That has motivated the band to travel, especially to the southern lands abroad. In these places the influence for new experiences will allow a new source of inspiration. The island, surrounded by the sea, can be in one hand encouraging to sail to distant lands and at the same time, give a sense of identity, being a part of a collective, which stimulates them to a review of their past, the traditions and culture. Playing the traditional popular songs that carry the islands’ identity is their wish as to bring them to the present sound and spread them to new generations.
