I Servan nascono a Trento nel maggio del 2014 dalle ceneri di un precedente gruppo folk-metal. I componenti rimasti, in poco tempo riescono a trovare un nuovo bassista, Davide, ma fatica invece la ricerca del batterista. Decidono di non arrendersi vista la loro grande voglia di suonare e soprattutto di creare materiale proprio: si decide quindi di utilizzare delle backtrack ponendo un rimedio all'assenza di un batterista. Dopo un paio di concerti per testare la presenza live registrano un Demo e lo pubblicano su Youtube. La qualità è bassa e rozza essendo le loro prime esperienze di registrazione ma questo non fa perdere la motivazione del gruppo. Pochi mesi più tardi infatti terminano di comporre abbastanza inediti per un potenziale Album e suonano al The Middle di Mezzolombardo insieme ai Ravenstorm di Bressanone. Nel suo piccolo il concerto ha un'ottimo riscontro tra il pubblico e questo non fa che incoraggiare ancor di più i Servan ad andare avanti.
Il genere è un death metal melodico molto improntato al folk, con numerose influenze in base ai gusti personali dei membri, gusti e tendenze che donano ai pezzi tratti epici ma anche molto ritmati grazie alla matrice folk dei riff di tastiera, l'efficace alternanza tra le parti cantate in growl/scream/pulito e le liriche fiabesche.
Il nome riprende infatti la versione italiana dei Changeling, creature che i Troll sostituivano al posto dei neonati umani, che venivano da loro rapiti durante la notte.
Nel giugno 2015 i Servan entrano in studio e iniziano a lavorare al primo album, di debutto, che vedrà la luce durante il 2017 e che conterrà alcune collaborazioni.
Ad agosto dello stesso anno entra nella line-up il batterista Adriano, che seguirà la band sia in studio che sui palchi durante i live, mentre verso la fine di ottobre, il chitarrista ritmico Vincenzo si separa dalla band, prontamente sostituito da Giulio.
Servan was born in Trento back in 2014 from the ashes of a past folk-metal band. The last members soon found a new bass player (Davide), but is hard to find a drummer. Anyway, they don’t give up and start to use backtracks instead of a drummer. After a few live shows to test the live presence, they record a demo to upload on Youtube. Its quality is low but that gives only more strenght to the band: after few months, in fact, they have enough inhedit songs to to produce a full-lenght album.
There is an important live to rember, at The Middle in Mezzolombardo, with Ravenstorm from Bressanone: this live is the proof of the high potential of the band.
The genre is a melodic death metal very folk-oriented, with many influences from all the members of the band, that gives the songs epicity but also very rythmic riffs thanks to the keyboard. There is also an effective change from growl, to scream to clean voices that turns real the legends told in the lyrics. The name of the band is, in fact, the north italian version of the Changeling, a creature that troll puts in the humans’ houses when they kidnapps the human babies during the night.
In middle 2015, Servan starts the recording of the first debut album,
