The Zoo Peculiar, a South Florida band formed in 2013, calls itself “circus music from outer space.” They play venues across Florida, and also occasionally tour the southeastern U.S.
Says online music magazine Metro Jolt: "It’s been tabbed carnivalesque experimental rock or even polka punk. But The Zoo will settle for experimental pop rock.
"Whichever label is applied, the Zoo’s first album, Teat, is entertaining and simply fun. Hearing the Zoo is one thing. Seeing them live is an experience. All three members perform wearing theatrical costumes. Stuffed animals fly into the crowd. Dr. Frank Lambshanks as the ring leader, is one part Elton John and one part Alice Cooper."
The trio of musicians include:
Dr. Frank "Nipples" Lambshanks: (Lead vocals, keys, veterinary)
Furious "Ginger Bear" Rod: (Bass, melodica, vocals, legal)
Ryan J. "Baby Hollywood" Gatsby: (Drums, 2 cents)
