Roberto Guerrero had violent-airborne crash which was occasioned in lap 197 of 208 when touched wheels with a slower car and suffered a frightening accident. Guerrero's car became airborne and then barrel-rolled through the infield grass on the backstretch. This was the first time an Indy Racing League car had been upside down during a live run, and the safety systems worked as planned - Roberto Guerrero walked away with minor injuries.

Roberto José Guerrero Isaza (born 16 November 1958, in Medellín) is colombian retired race driver. Roberto was competing in several championships such as Formula 1, CART, Indy Racing Leaguer. In year 1984. Guerrero won both CART and Indianapolis 500 rookie of the year honors.
