Tasmanian Senator Jacqui Lambie gave an emotional farewell to her electorate on Tuesday, November 14, ahead of her resignation following reports she was in fact a dual citizen and therefore ineligible for public office.Lambie had earlier told some in the media that her father was born in Scotland. Neither he nor his daughter had renounced their British citizenship.“I just wanted to thank you for all your support over the last four, five years – you’ve been absolutely magnificent and I love feeding things out to you and I’m going to continue. I’m not sure exactly what’s going to go on from here on in, but I do have a state team running in Tasmania and I will be beside them with my own jacket on, because sooner or later, I intend to be back here.”The latest of eight parliamentarians to resign over dual citizenship, Lambie reassured her father that she did not blame him for the error. “We will get through this together. It is fine, Dad.” Credit: Jacqui Lambie via Storyful
