How to mount HOTAS flight sticks to an office chair for Elite: Dangerous and other flight sims
An easy and cheap method to mount a HOTAS setup to your chair using pole mounting brackets and velcro.\r
\r
I am using this setup to play Elite: Dangerous and other flight based games in virtual reality with the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift headsets. I used a medium-backed chair for better VR cord management and head movement.\r

These are the parts I used:\r
Chair:\r

\r
Mount (x2):\r

or this alternate mount (single joint):\r

\r
USB extension cable:\r
\r
\r
Industrial strength Velcro:\r
\r
\r

\r
\r
Cord management (x2):\r

I set this up to play Elite: Dangerous in VR, for extra immersion and convenience. You can see some VR footage starting at 15:49 using the complete setup. In this video Im using the HTC Vive, but I have also used the Oculus Rift and I think theyre both great headsets.\r

For added immersion I did end up getting a SubPac M2 backpack. It adds a tile response to the rumbling of your ship, and thanks to the amazing sound design of Elite: Dangerous it gives every different ion in your ship a different feeling, crazy immersive in VR!\r
