Bowe Bergdahl receives no prison time

Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl will receive no prison time for deserting his fellow soldiers when he walked off his post in Afghanistan in 2009 and was captured by the Taliban. Bergdahl received a dishonorable discharge and will instead have his rank reduced to private. He plead guilty to desertion and misbehavior before the enemy on Oct. 16 and faced the possibility of life in prison. Bergdahl was released in May 2014 in a controversial exchange for five Guantanamo Bay detainees.
