The model of the HDD inside the enclosure is an ST5000DM000. The spec sheet is on the Seagate site: \r

What do you do when you need a bigger hard drive but you want the lowest price? You get creative (and brave, and throw caution to the wind!)!\r

The Seagate 5TB HDD retails for around $300, while the external Backup Plus version of the same SATA6 HDD is on sale (on the date of this video) for $160.\r

This one take video (one edit) shows the unboxing of the Seagate Backup Plus, and the extrion of the 5TB HDD inside.\r

Be aware: Extring the HDD from the enclosure is reason for Seagate to deny a warranty claim, which is 2 years. You can keep it in the enclosure and use it for external storage for 2 years, and THEN remove it. Or, a frugal utilitarian, like myself, will reason that $160 for the use of 5TB for potentially 3 years (typical hdd lifespan) is enough to assume the risk. In the end, its just that. An assumption of risk. Go Big or Go Home.\r

I hope that this video helps someone who might be faced with a limited budget, with a need for a bigger hard drive without breaking the bank.\r
