Target has issued a recall of a four-drawer dresser sold under the Room Essentials brand.

Target has issued a recall of a four-drawer dresser sold under the Room Essentials brand for around $118.
According to the announcement, which has been posted online by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), “The recalled dressers are unstable if they are not anchored to the wall, posing serious tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in death or injuries to children.”
It also says, “Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled dresser that is not properly anchored to the wall and place it into an area that children cannot access. Consumers should return the recalled dresser to any Target store for a full refund.”
The recall was put into effect after 12 reports were submitted of these dressers “tipping or collapsing, including tipping over on two three-year-old children.”
According to CPSC, no injuries have been reported.
The notice applies to about 175,000 units sold in the U.S. and another 3,000 sold in Canada between January 2013 through April 2016 online and in stores.
