Officers shot and killed a tiger roaming free in Henry County, Georgia, reports WGCL.
Many concerned citizens called in early Wednesday morning to report they’d seen the big cat walking along Interstate 75.
Law enforcement decided a fatal solution was necessary after the tiger jumped a resident’s fence and began to chase the family’s dog, notes WXIA.
Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary, located in the area, said in a statement posted to Facebook, “Noah's Ark was contacted by Henry County Police…We responded immediately and were on the way to the scene with hopes of chemically immobilizing the tiger and bringing it to Noah's Ark. Unfortunately, human life became at risk and the tiger was shot by the authorities. All of our tigers are accounted for.”
Where the tiger came from remains unclear.
