A 6-foot-long Burmese python was recently spotted in Miami Beach.

Coming across a Burmese python in southern Florida certainly isn’t unheard of, but, typically, people are in an area lush with greenery and wildlife when that happens.
WTVJ reports that on Wednesday, a 6-foot-long member of the species was spotted on Miami Beach’s Lincoln Road.
Fear not, the situation has reportedly been handled.
Chief Daniel Oates of the Miami Beach Police Department tweeted photos of officers’ snake wrangling effort and wrote, “Suspect apprehended! Officers responded to a call of a 6ft snake just off Lincoln Road and safely captured it.”
Though gone, the snake is not likely forgotten.
Indika Wanigarathne, a Lincoln Road shop owner, told the Miami Herald, "When I saw how huge it was, I freaked out. So did everybody else."
According to WTVJ, “It's unknown where the snake came from but officials said it would be taken to AA Native Wildlife Removal.”
