Dashcam shows cops search woman's vagina for 11 minutes

HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS — A couple of dirty cops in Texas will after a grand jury ruled they would face no charges for strip and cavity-searching a woman two years ago without her consent and without a search warrant.
In June of 2015, Charnesia Corley, then 21, was pulled over by police in a Harris County gas station parking lot for running a red light. The officers claim they smelled marijuana, and searched her car thoroughly. A female officer was then called in to conduct a vaginal search of Corley. Handcuffed, Corley claims the female officer pulled her pants down and told her to bend over, sticking fingers toward her vaginal area. When Corley asked what was happening, the officer then slammed her to the ground, put a knee in her back, and shoved her fingers up inside of her. Dashcam video released this week shows Corley on the ground, naked from the waist down, being vaginally probed for 11 minutes. According to the New York Daily News, Corley claims she feels like she "was raped."
The Harris County Sheriff's Office has released a statement acknowledging its "policy prohibits deputies from conducting strip searches without a warrant. In cases in which a warrant is obtained, strip searches must be conducted in a private, sanitary, and appropriate facility." In addition, such invasive searches require they be conducted in a private place, out of sight of officers of the opposite sex.
Despite failure to follow proper protocol, couple with the dashcam footage as evidence, Deputies Ronaldine Pierre and William Strong have been cleared of any wrongdoing. Corley was charged with resisting arrest and possession of marijuana, after the cops uncovered 0.2 grams of marijuana from their search. Those charges have since been dropped.
In light of the officers being permitted to resume their regular duties and cleared of any wrongdoing, Charnesia Corley has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit set to take place in January.
