NEW YORK (Reuters) - Mike Garcia (United States)
has already had three world titles and was one of
the best players in the world and was impressive
on his resume on Saturday night.
Garcia moved to a lightweight title owner, Junior
Welterweight and was outstanding as he easily
brought outboxed and defeated Adrien Broner to
win a unanimous decision before 12,084 crowds
at Brooklyn's Barclays Center Put performance.
Broner, the world title owner of the previous four
categories, lost weight from the welterweight for
the fight, was a considerable weak in non-title
confrontation between two of the top names in boxing.
A fight came together when I could not find the top
opponent of his own weight division to fight
this summer.
After all, Garcia was the only one where the technical
advantage was clear. His punch was accurate, crisp,
accurate and rarely used. Bronner? He did not throw
at all and rarely toss a combination.
The judge had it for Garcia (117-111, 116-112, 116-112).
ESPN.com Garcia won with a 120-108 shutout.
"This is definitely one of my best performances,
" Garcia said. "I think I controlled fighting early and
I continued the activity. [Broner] A great fighter with
amazing skills, I was an excellent fighter tonight.
The first couple's round was late, but Garcia was
bothered a little by Cincinnati's Brunner who turned 28
on Friday and raised his hard left hand in the third round
trying to get away. Garcia kept attacking him and landed
some shots. Bronner shook his head saying he was
not hurt, but he felt the punch clearly.
Garcia (37-0, 30 KOs) kept obsessing his jab against
Bologna who moved the body and threw most
of the punch. When he threw a shot they were only one
at a time and not enough to do damage.
"I thank everyone who came to see me losing and all
the people who came to see me," Broner said.
"I wanted to congratulate Mikey and his team, it was
a good fight. In the end I come to fight, I came to win
and I put my heart on the line.
The lack of activity of Broner was shown in the
punching statistics of CompuBox. Garcia won 244
out of 783 punches (31%), but Broner only
connected 125 (31%) out of 400. Broner never threw
more than 44 punches in a round, but Garcia threw
98 per round over the last three frames on average.
"It was a timing," Garcia said. "I always said that
I am taking a very good timing, but when you are
outside the ring it is undervalued, but once I get in
the ring, I am a step forward Camp and Great Sparring
We knew that it would be a tough fight so we had to
make it a wonderful shape It was part of a little busier
strategy than the fight I had before It was.
But it was Garcia who positively threw forward and
thrown and punched more, but Bronner accused
him running.
"It was Tom and Jerry, so I had to catch the mouse.
Broner's trainer, Mike Stafford, has never admitted.
"Adrian is just a bit close to Mikey," he said.
"Mikey really went well, Adrian had been in the body soon."
In the fifth round, Garcia (29 years old) of Moreno Valley,
California was fully controlled. He landed a combination
of left and right, Broner (33-3, 24 KOs) did not gather
on the return anyway, but occasionally punched. At 30
seconds into the fifth round, Garcia returned his head
straight and returned with a clean right hand.
In the sixth round, Garcia continued the combination with
Broner who did not answer, but there was no answer.
Garcia became dominant, the crowd lived in the eighth
round, began to cast "Mikey! Mikey! Mikey!
" But it was outstanding performance from Garcia, but
the battle that had high expectations was not excited for
Bourner 's inactive and inefficient.
Bronner landed a good left hook in the second half of
the ninth round, but he seems not enough to win the round.
"This is definitely one of my best performances.I want to
control the fight in the early round and I think I continued
the activity [Adrian Bloggers] has great skill that has great skill is.
Mikey Garcia
Bronner had many fans in the crowd and they tried to lift
him on lap ten in the "AB! AB! AB!" Chant. But they could
not make a box for him and Garcia drew a brronner for
the rest of the fight.
Mikey trainer and brother Robert Garcia said,
"I knew that Mikey had to fight wisely."
"Bronner is a very strong tough man, we had to fight
smartly for 12 rounds."
