Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly says a 'media lynch-mob’ is, “trying to take down Trump.”
In an opinion piece published by The Hill on Monday, O’Reilly shares his takeaways from Sean Hannity’s recent interview with Reince Priebus, and, specifically, the former chief of staff’s comments about the media.
Priebus described the media at large as “dishonest,” and told Hannity, “…whether it be Russia collusion, whether it be someone said something in the Oval Office, or whether it be anything -- the most breathtaking thing for me has been…what often gets reported and then what actually becomes a full-blown narrative…”
O’Reilly takes that sentiment a step further, asserting that, at large, “Americans are being barraged with story lines designed to make it impossible for Donald Trump to govern.”
He further comments, “[Trump] is so despised by the progressive movement, and by some conservatives as well, that old rules of fairness and truth-seeking no longer apply.”
The president has, of course, made his own feelings about the bulk of U.S. media well known.
Just days ago, Trump tweeted, “It's hard to read the Failing New York Times or the Amazon Washington Post because every story/opinion, even if should be positive, is bad!”
