NYC couple jump to their deaths amid financial crisis

A Manhattan couple leaped to their deaths due to a financial crisis on Thursday, police said. Glenn Scarpelli and his wife Patricia Colant, 50, were found Friday morning. The couple, who jumped from a ninth floor Madison Avenue window, left behind suicide notes both referencing financial woes. According to records, Scarpelli owed hundreds of thousands of dollars in unpaid taxes. The couple left behind two children, ages 19 and 20.
