MY DAY PART 2 BY DANNY RAVEN TAN

A quick look into my life as a painter in a simple typical day!Singaporean painter Danny Raven Tan’s survived pancreatic cancer in 2010. Danny was mentored by Mr Poh Siew Wah, a Singaporean artist known for his powerful Abstract and Expressionistic styled paintings, for only two years when he was a student in Nanyang Junior College.
Conceptual, impressionistic and provocative - some might even say Danny’s works are controversial.
In 2015, Danny left LASALLE College of the Arts, where he spent six years marketing the college ,and decided to pursue his dream as a painter. He co-founded THE TIFFIN GALLERY, a unique art appreciation space nestled in the heartland of Singapore, Ang Mo Kio. The eclectic gallery is converted from a 4 room HDB flat, which he feels tourists will be keen to explore and understand the Singaporean culture.
Danny's work were acquired by private collectors from UK, USA, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand.
Viewing is by appointment only.

Danny had also produced and starred in a short film, titled When you are old, directed by Koh Chong Wu, which won the Singapore leg of Singtel Group’s “The 5-min Video Challenge"” in 2016. The story is based on his story with his mum who is suffering from cognitive impairment dementia. Inspired by the win, he is writing a stage play about the intricate relationship between a dementia patient and caregiver.
To further his cause to bring about awareness of dementia, Danny was featured on a Channel News Asia programme, "Facing Dementia (episode 3") produced by The Moving Visuals. The programme discussed the various issues regarding the disease and how caregivers coped with their loved ones who were suffering from the illness.
