That omission has created further questions about whether Trump intends to visit the U.K. in the foreseeable future.
According to The Guardian, though an invitation was extended by Prime Minister Theresa May, Trump has reportedly postponed the trip until his reception is likely to be warmer.
He is a rather controversial figure in the U.K., and when it was first announced that he would likely be traveling there, many citizens protested.
It’s unlikely his response to the London Bridge attack has warmed hearts. Not long after the act of terrorism, Trump targeted London Mayor Sadiq Khan, notes CNBC.
President Trump tweeted, “At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is ‘no reason to be alarmed!’”
Notably, while Khan did say that, he was referring to the increased police presence in the wake of the attack, not the violence itself.
