In a report released Thursday, the CDC says adolescents has dropped for the first time since 2011. The National Youth Tobacco Survey has been tracking e-cigarette and tobacco use in high school and middle school students from 2011 to 2016. From 2015 to 2016, teens were using less vaping and tobacco products. Brian King who works for the CDC's Office on Smoking and Health shared his thoughts: "The good news is that we've seen a marked decline in the use of tobacco products among our nation's youth. However, the bad news is that we still have about 3.9 million US youth who are using tobacco products." The CDC attributes the decrease in these products to educational anti-tobacco ad campaigns like commercials and policies that restrict youth access to tobacco.
