Hi Everybody it's Andrew Moore at Hyundai of Athens here to say a few words about the newly redesigned 2017 Hyundai Elantra.
Now what sets this apart from previous models is fortunately the designers and engineers at Hyundai decided to start all over. So what that means for you the consumer and the driver and the passenger is that the Elantra is wider, it's longer, it's taller - making for a more stable, safer, and a quieter ride.
Now let me point out a few things about the engine that also makes this special. Let's take a look at the engine. Here we have the 16 valve, 4 cylinder valve, GDi engine producing 147 horsepower with approximately 32 miles a gallon on average. Now what is GDi? GDi stands for gasoline directed injection. What that means for you is a cleaner burning, more efficient and longer lasting engine.
New for 2017 are a number of styling queues and safety and performance enhancements. For example, pretty much the entire front grille area including both the headlights as well as the grille itself are new for 2017. Also as an added improvement your daytime LED daytime running lights, which of course not only add that look but very safe as well.
Continuing on the side as you can see the lines and curvatures add an athletic stance to the fluidic sculpture design that Hyundai has become known for. More specifically on the side here you have your turn signal indicators on both side mirrors again for that added element of safety. Another important feature to know is this particular model features what we call the blind spot detection so when and if a car is in your blind spot this will light up indicating that it is not safe for you to change lanes.
And lastly, I'd like to show you as you can see I have the key here. This is what we call a proximity key. It's part of the proximity key system. I'm going to go ahead and put this in my back pocket as you can see the door is currently unlocked, close it, press this black button and viola the entire car is locked. So again, not only added safety but convenience as well.
Now continuing on the interior of the car, I’d like to point out a few features that really make the redesign of 2017 really stand out and really make it the excellent value that it is. So as you can see, this being the limited edition, limited model it is featured in beautifully appointed leather where both of the driver and passenger seats are heated. The EPA categorizes the ‘17 Elantra actually as a mid-sized car and I tell you as soon as you sit in here you can see why. There’s plenty of space making for very comfortable riding for up to 5 passengers.
Continuing up here, this is the 7 inch touch screen system which feature both the Apple car play as well as Android auto systems. Which means that the driver can sync their phone to the car and the screen itself will act like their phone screen.
