Major mountain fire caused by firecrackers in northern China

Footage has emerged of a huge fire raging on a mountain in northern China.

In the video, captured in Chengde, Hebei Province on May 11, a slope of the mountain can be seen engulfed in massive flames and thick smoke rising into the sky.

Rescuers were called on the scene to extinguish the fire and evacuate surrounding houses.

According to local news, the fire was caused by firecrackers used to celebrate a couple's wedding.

No casualties were reported.
