Vermont becomes first state to approve marijuana legalization bill
  • 7 years ago
Vermont just became the first state to pass legislation approving the recreational marijuana legalization bill. The bill would legalize small amounts of marijuana possession in 2018, followed by opening a regulated marijuana market. Now that the state Senate passed the bill, it will go directly to GOP Gov. Phil Scott. While eight states have legalized marijuana, no state has legalized cannabis through the legislative process.
