by Anthony FalcoShipping containers in Egypt could help solve the country’s housing crisis, according to two Egyptian designers who are using “cargotecture” to turn discarded shipping containers into shops, restaurants, and even living spaces. The recycled and prefabricated steel containers are easy to transport and enormously cost-effective. The company, Qubix, delivered its first order last year and now hopes to make inroads into the low-cost housing market.
