United Airlines is investigating the death of a pet giant rabbit that was aboard one of its flights. The rabbit, named Simon, was found dead in the plane’s cargo section when the flight landed in Chicago’s O’Hare airport. Simon was a three-foot long continental giant rabbit and was on its way from the U.K. to be given to a 'celebrity' owner. He was expected to be the world's largest rabbit, folllowing the footsteps of his dad Darius, who currently holds the record at four feet and four inches. Simon’s owner, Annette Edwards, told The Sun newspaper that Simon went to the vet prior to the flight and was “fit as a fiddle.” United told the BBC that they have been in contact with Edwards and are reviewing the incident.
