Footage has emerged from the UK of a man rescuing a dog after he thought it was dying in a hot car.
The video, captured at a car park in St Ives, Cornwall, shows the dog sitting inside a cage on the backseat of a vehicle,
The filmer had smashed a window in the car as he believed the dog had been in the vehicle for an hour and 25 minutes when he arrived, according to the ticket on the car.
Speaking to a local news organisation, the filmer explained his decision.
"I rang the police and they said not to do anything unless it was distressed. The dog was lying on its back with its tongue hanging out. It couldn't breathe. There was no way I was leaving it."
"The police said 'on your head be it' so we smashed the window in. I also rang the caravan park where the owner was staying as I saw a sticker on the window and I asked them to call the owner but they said they couldn't do it. It was going to die within 10 minutes. It couldn't even lap the water up when we got it out."
